Scalloped fluted rim vase
Made in USA circa 1947
Cool Blue glaze with White Starflower pattern
9” high by 6” wide at scalloped top
4” diameter at base
Tight hairline crack at the bottom right of the vase and seen on the inside of the piece

This is a lovely Abingdon pottery scalloped vase in the Starflower pattern. It is done in the color they named Cool Blue. According to my Abingdon reference book, this vase shape was made in 1947-1948 and the Cool Blue glaze color appeared in catalogs in 1942, 1947, and 1948.  The lovely Starflower design is white with a raised texture.
It is marked 566 Abingdon USA on the bottom.
There is a tight hairline crack at the bottom right of the vase. This is also seen on the inside of the piece.
Note: I filled the vase to the top with water and left it sit for over 12 hours and there was no seepage or leaking from the hairline crack.
